Rainforest Circuit
Rainforest Circuit
Take the family on an adventure through the stunning subtropical rainforest at Maiala (located at Mt Glorious, part of the D'Aguilar National Park). The Rainforest Circuit is an easy 2km walk that is sure to delight walkers of all ages.
Visitors will walk past magnificent strangler figs, ferns, palms, fungi and climbing lianas. The dirt trail is well maintained and incorporates several wooden boardwalks over creek beds. These creek beds are usually quite dry unless it has recently rained. Bird cries can be heard throughout the forest and observant visitors may spot some local wildlife.
There are two forks in the trail at the beginning of the Rainforest Circuit. The path to the right is recommended for families with less capable walkers (walking the circuit in an anti-clockwise direction allows visitors to descend both the set of stairs and small sections with slope). Alternatively, the track to the left is most suitable for families with prams. Please note that only the first 700m in this direction is pram-accessible. Upon reaching a bitumen road, pram users will need to return along the same trail.
Tips:
Small section of concrete pathway at the beginning of the trail.
