Riverdale Park
Riverdale Park
The new dinosaur themed playground at Riverdale Park is a must-visit for all dino enthusiasts.
The most striking the feature is a towering climbing structure with two enclosed slides (both of these are adorned with stegosaurus back plates!). A second smaller play structure resembles an actual dinosaur, with children climbing through the mouth of the creature and sliding down its tail. Several obstacles are embedded within the structure, including low-level tactile play equipment.
Little explorers can "discover" various dinosaur sculptures, nests and eggs that have been positioned throughout the playground. A replica of a partial dinosaur skeleton and a large fossil dig pit provide further opportunities for imaginative play. Other equipment includes dinosaur rockers, a multiple bay swing set, recessed trampolines, climbing net and bike paths.
In addition to this great playground, upgrades to Riverdale Park also included a second outdoor gym. The modern equipment is interactive with QR codes, complementing the existing obstacle-like structures.
A second playground is located towards the rear of the grounds. Barbecues, picnic shelters and toilets are spread throughout, allowing the park to accommodate multiple groups of visitors.
This venue also offers an extremely large formal gazebo, stunning lagoon and river access with pontoon.
