Savages Crossing certainly feels like a magical place. This gorgeous section of the Brisbane River is ideal for family outings and suitable for swimming, fishing and canoeing.
The most populated section of this venue is around the entrance bridge. This area can easily be accessed by car and the cleared riverbank is sufficiently wide to accommodate parked cars, gazebos etc. Please note that 4WD access is not permitted past this point.
Families can explore the water's edge, look for fish within the shallows, have a splash and sit as the cool water flows by.
Adults and more capable children can venture towards the middle of the river with an inflatable and float along with the current.
As with any natural swimming spot, caution is advised. Water shoes are advised as the creek bed is very rocky. Additionally, observation is required to monitor the waters for potentially dangerous marine creatures.
Two roadside toilets can be found upon entry. There are no bins at this location, so it is recommended to take a bag to store any litter.
