Ipswich Nature Centre
Ipswich Nature Centre
Ipswich Nature Centre showcases an array of Australian wildlife, including wombats, wallabies, emus, quolls, and a nocturnal bilby exhibit.
The centre also boasts an enormous rainforest bird aviary and a small barnyard with resident chickens, goats, sheep and a friendly bull (if you visit around springtime, this menagerie also includes calves, lambs and piglets).
Visitors can access the various enclosures by traveling along wide paths and boardwalk style ramps. These easily allow for pram and wheelchair access, however smaller children may need to be lifted from prams to view particular exhibits.
Of course, no trip to Queens Park is complete without a stroll through the Japanese gardens, the purchase of an ice-cream cone from the cafe and an exploration of the playground.
