FREE Children’s Activities – 2024 AACTA Festival

The 2024 AACTA Festival (Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts) will be hosted by the Gold Coast’s Home of the Arts, 9-11 February 2024. Attendees will enjoy over 70 amazing activity programs – many of these at no charge.

See below for highlights of the children’s programs.

Kids Screening Program

11 February, 6:00-9:00am

Enjoy a selection of Australia’s most iconic kids’ programs, aired on the cinema screen! Families will watch episodes of animated programs, “Bluey” and “Little J & Big Cuz,” alongside the beloved shows, “Little Lunch,” “Mortified” and “Round The Twist.”

Registration is essential, ticketed families can arrive and leave at any time during the session.

Bluey & Bingo Meet and Greet

11 February, sessions begin 8:15, 9:15 and 10:15am

Families will have the opportunity to meet characters Bluey and Bingo, for real life! Don’t forget to take photos to mark the occasion. 

Registration is essential. Ticketed families are advised to arrive early.

Play School LIVE!

11 February, 9:00-10:00am

Join the beloved presenters of ABC’s Play School for an interactive live show filled with music, dancing and a craft activity! 

Suitable for children 3-5 years, registration essential. Tickets will need to be acquired for parents and children.

 

Kids Acting Classes

11 February, 8:00am (ages 5-7 years), 9:00am (ages 8-10 years) and 10:00am (11-12 years)

Children will enjoy a plethora of drama activities, including games, charades, one-word stories and improvisation. Workshops will be run by AACTA Youth Ambassadors Charlotte Stent (Bluey, Sweet River) and Chaydon Jay (Elvis).

Registration essential, children must be accompanied by at least one parent.

A Student’s Guide to Making Money on Youtube

11 February, 1:00-2:00pm

Older children will be enthralled listening to stories and advice from some of Australia’s most popular Youtubers. The headlining presenter will be RackRacka (Danny and Michael Philippou), others will be added.

Registration essential, limited tickets remaining.
