Fort Lytton
Fort Lytton
Fort Lytton was Brisbane's primary defence facility from the colonial era until after WW2. Visitors can explore the significant historic fortifications and browse through multiple military museum collections.
My children particularly enjoyed exploring the colonial buildings, gun pits, triangulation stations, tunnels and other structures.
Open 10am-4pm each Sunday. Admission, self-guided and guided tours are free, however donations are gladly accepted.
Follow the page Fort Lytton Historical Association (Queensland) for notifications of future events, including gun firing and other military re-enactments.
