Wickham Peak Lookout
Wickham Peak Lookout
The trek to Wickham Peak Lookout may not be the easiest but the views certainly make it worthwhile!
Visitors will certainly enjoy the tranquility of Wickham Timber Reserve, located behind Yarrabilba / Logan Village. The Wickham Peak Lookout Trail begins with a level meander through eucalypt forest. During the autumn and winter months, an abundance of wildflowers can be seen growing throughout this region. As the trail begins to ascend, the landscape offers glimpses of stunning sandstone formations.
This 3km return hike is well signed but does require a reasonable level of fitness. Expectantly, there are several steep sections within the trail, many requiring visitors to scramble over rocky terrain or navigate surfaces that appear to be solid rock beds.
Upon reaching the lookout at Wickham Peak, admire views of Brisbane City to the North and Mt Barney to the South.
This trail begins from the steel sliprail on Quinzeh Creek Road (look for the Wickham Timber Reserve sign, see map). Alternatively, it can be accessed by various other trails.
Please note, this is NOT the trail leading to "the cave" at Plunkett Conservation Park.
